Perhaps more time to prepare for issues. A document provided near the beginning of the process turned out to cause a delay in the mortgage. This was difficult and caused a huge inconvenience when we learned about it a week prior to closing. I also understand the intensive paperwork needed to complete a mortgage, but there were a few documents that I didn't feel were needed. Example, proving that I was qualified for a career in which I was hired for and already provided an employment letter.
