I can't say enough good things about Mike. He's proactive, fast, knowledgeable, helpful, and a great coordinator/communicator. I was a first time home buyer and got in touch with Mike for a pre-approval because of a referral from a friend. From the start, he was always available to help explain this very complex and daunting process. This is where Mike went from a competent professional to a total rockstar though. I was encouraged by various people to compare rates, and found a slightly lower rate from one of the big banks - let's call them 'Hells Fargo' - due to a discount through my company. Long story shorter, I found a house, got an offer accepted with no conditions and a short close, and was moving forward when the big bank's appraisal came in $100K short of the purchase price for ridiculous reasons and torpedo'ed the whole thing. After getting this absolute gut punch and facing losing my deposit, I picked up the phone and called Mike, who immediately stepped in and got right to work. Despite having to switch midstream and working on an extremely constrained timeline, he was able to rush everything to the finish line just in time! He even took it upon himself to appeal my 2nd appraisal, which was still a little low, without me even asking, and succeeded, saving me $10K! Throughout the whole process, he kept me updated, coordinated with the title co. and my agent, was always ready to jump on the phone and walk me through my questions or even just to commiserate, and he always kept me thinking optimistic even when I was getting discouraged and frustrated. If you're trying to buy a house in San Francisco, forget the big banks located out of state. You need a local expert like Mike who understands and can help you navigate the specific challenges and complexities of this crazy market. Mike is clearly a guy who is willing to work hard for your business and do what it takes to deliver, which I really respect. I wish I had never even contacted the big bank and had just stayed with Mike from the start. I probably wouldn't have my beautiful new home without him. Thank you!!!
