This is the 2nd time I've used Jay. We had very special circumstances that no one else seemed to understand or know how to handle. Jay knew exactly what to do and it fit our needs perfectly. However, when I received the final docs I was extremely disappointed to find $595.00 charged to me for rate lock extensions and another mysterious $400. When I questioned Jay on these issues his responses made no sense and seemed to have been constructed to simply "confuse" me. I consulted other experts who also felt that I was being charged for things I should not have been charged for. I let Jay know that if he did not remove those 2 items, we would not close on the loan. He agreed to remove 1 item but not the other. My answer was simply "ok, we won't close." We got off the phone and I left the title company. Minutes later Jay called me 4 times, texted me and left a voicemail wanting to "fix this." At the very same time he constructed an email to the title company wherein he told them that I was partially responsible because I delayed the appraisal and that I was just trying to "squeeze him for another $400." I absolutely did not delay the appraisal. When we were contacted by the appraiser it was Friday, October 6th and he texted my husband and was requesting to do the appraisal on Tuesday, October 10th. I then texted him and asked if he could do it either on the 9th or the 11th instead. We then scheduled for 2:00 on Wednesday, 1 DAY LATER THAN HE HAD REQUESTED. I do not see that as my having delayed the appraisal. Therefore, Jay should have looked at the facts before saying that I was in any way responsible for the rate lock extensions. In addition, he kept referring to having had to restructure the deal because rates had increased. What??? If I was in fact locked in, rates having had an increase would have no impact on me. Needless to say, I would not do business with Jay again. Honesty and integrity are everything to me and that is not what I experienced in this situation.

Getting a home loan today is far more complex than it was a decade ago. Jay and his loan processor, Krystal, have provided fabulous support throughout this process. From the first night we engaged with Jay (which was a Sunday no less – we had found our dream home and needed a loan approval letter to support our offer – he had it to us the next morning), working to get us a rapid appraisal in a rural area to meet the terms of our contract and all the way to “clear to close” we felt that we were working with a team that truly cared about us. Jay is extremely professional and has a very high level of expertise in his profession – which is critical with the complexity of mortgages today. He provides exceptional guidance and is incredibly responsive to emails/questions. My husband and I highly recommend working with Jay and his team for your home mortgage loan.
