I’ve had a hard time going back and forth about if I wanted to leave a review or not, but Tiffany did something extremely unprofessional and I feel as if other people should know about it.
Our real estate agent was really excited to get us in contact with Tiffany because we are buying a new house in Colorado Springs. We were originally going to do a regular mortgage, but ended up finding our forever house (thanks to Tiffany for sending it to our agent) and we ended up doing a VA Assumable since my husband is a veteran. We are selling our house in Parker, Colorado so we decided to do a HELOC since we have over $150,000 in equity. The process which should have been easy, ended up dragging on and it was just a nightmare. At the beginning of December we asked Tiffany to start the HELOC process (mind you, we already gave them all of our documents for pre-approval so they had everything in relation to documents). We didn’t hear anything back for a while, so my husband reached out to her again and asked what was going on. It was weird because from what we’ve heard, it’s a typically easy process, but it seemed as if Tiffany was just kind of dragging us along as the rate seemed to change. Eventually she contacts my husband back and said she submitted everything, a couple days later (mind you it’s been weeks now since we asked to start the HELOC) we get our approval letter and it’s for less than half of what we asked for, and her explanation was “the market is in a downward trend and your house appraised lower” which didn’t make sense to us since we have a decent amount of equity.
After being dragged along by her long enough, we decided to fire her and use a different company (the Saturday before Christmas) and we’re already under review for the HELOC with the new company for the full amount, something that took Tiffany weeks to do for us.
After we fired her, she proceeded to contact the listing agent of the house we’re buying to tell him we didn’t have the funds to buy their house, which is extremely unprofessional and out of line because we never consented her to give out our financial information like that. We always go into everything with a Plan A and Plan B, regardless if we used her or not, we had the funds to pay the gap, thankfully now we have the new company fulfilling the full amount of the HELOC we originally requested with Tiffany.
Please proceed with caution if you decide to use Tiffany for any mortgage needs. We were going to use her as a financial advisor, but after seeing her lack of professionalism, there is no way in heck we would trust her with financial advising. Be wary, I recommend you look somewhere else or if you do go with Tiffany, make sure you have a back up plan like we did.
Reply from Owner: Dear Jordan,
I appreciate your candid feedback and regret the challenges you faced during the HELOC process. I apologize for any delays in communication and the discrepancy in the approved amount. Home equity lines of credit are influenced by variable factors, including market trends and property appraisals.
I understand your decision to switch to another company, and I'm pleased you were able to secure the full HELOC amount promptly. Regarding the contact with the listing agent, I want to clarify that I did not initiate it; they reached out to me directly. I only communicated that I was no longer assisting with the HELOC and refrained from discussing specific financial details to respect your privacy.
I value your feedback and am committed to addressing concerns. If you have further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out directly. Thank you for considering us, and I wish you the best in your new home.
