This was the most convoluted, confusing, and contradictory experience I've ever had in securing a mortgage. Jamie Tuel's communication throughout the process was lacking with multiple requests for the same items that had been previously provided. At no point in the process did she exude confidence, and her consistent inference to my wife that the loan was in jeopardy of approval left her distraught throughout the 2-month ordeal that was our mortgage approval. We'd initially looked at an FHA mortgage, and Jamie spoke with my wife about the potential benefits of doing a conventional mortgage instead. After about 2 weeks, she informed my wife that we had no options other than to do a conventional mortgage (with no reasoning supplied) and that our down payment would have to increase by over $50,000. As my wife had already found her dream home, it was really a choice of proceeding or breaking the deal. We proceeded, and to my chagrin, the lack of accurate communication continued. We were provided inaccurate final loan documents, and when we'd brought to Jamie's attention that the documents were inaccurate, we were informed that it "really doesn't matter" as it was "similar to a good-faith estimate". Note that the accompanying paperwork insists that the borrowers validate the accuracy of all information on those forms. As we were within 4 days of our closing date, we were basically pressured into e-signing inaccurate documentation. Thankfully, after multiple validations of the funds we'd given to our broker, we were able to incorporate those funds into closing, needing to come up with only an additional $3500. There are no words in professional business English to describe the absolute frustration that this process was compared to the other 3 mortgages that I've paid. All reading this, do yourselves a favor and choose another lender! I'll be taking it in the shorts again in a few months when I spend more money to refinance this mortgage, but considering our experience, I believe I'll find it to be money well-spent.
