Apply For A Loan

Mark J. Maroon is a seasoned mortgage executive with the passion of a first-year Loan Officer. He is currently a Branch Manager for Primary Residential Mortgage.

His previous mortgage experience was as Area Manager / Reverse Mortgage Trainer for Fairway Independent Mortgage and Regional Vice President for Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corporation. Becoming involved with Allied in its earliest stages Mark was critical in implementing procedures and systems that would promote customer care and transparency. He wrote job expectations for all retail positions; core value statements and his branch mission statement, which was eventually adopted by the entire company. When Dodd-Frank was established, Mark played an integral role in establishing Allied’ s compliance with all regulations. Prior to that, he was the Northeast Territory Manager for GMAC Mortgage; was a member of the “Leadership Evolution Team” tasked with redesigning the “perfect vision of a mortgage company” and participated as a leader on the Malcolm Baldrige Award team.

“I take everything I do very seriously, and I am regularly in touch with the Maine Bureau of Banking to ensure the branches I managed, and the Maine Banking community stayed compliant, that was how we learned the formula for high cost loans wasn’t established. We took it upon ourselves to create the model that is still used today.”

He was a six-time award winner for branch profitability and the number two rated manager in the country in 1998 by the GMAC Mortgage Managers’ Scorecard. Mark consistently rated in the top five territories for customer service. Furthermore, he developed a team of top performers resulting in a steady increase in sales contest winners from two in 1994 to six in 1998. Other task forces he was involved with include Internet Design, Compensation, Point of Sale and Loan Officer Retention, among others. Prior to his mortgage experience, he was a Store Manager Trainer working for Hannaford Brothers (now Delhaize America) starting directly from high school, and through his college degree, then on to full time.

He has been a Director for the Mortgage Lenders Association, a former Town Council Chairman in Scarborough Maine and current Chairman of the Scarborough Zoning Board of Appeals, a quasi-judicial board. He recently retired as Treasurer of the Cumberland County Civic Center and Director for the Scarborough Economic Development Corporation. He is currently a member of the Volunteers in Police Service for Cumberland County and will soon be expanding to assisting in Scarborough, Maine.
